Wooden logic puzzle “Animals from Shapes” – 29 pieces, 20 task cards (Kruzzel)

🐞 A semicircle becomes a wing, a circle becomes an eye, and two halves together make a ladybird’s body. In this Kruzzel wooden logic puzzle the child builds the animal shown on the card from simple geometric shapes: a crab, a bird, a fish, a mouse, a ladybird, a penguin or a turkey. The cards are graded by difficulty (marked with stars), so the game grows with the child.

✨ What does this puzzle develop?

• Logical thinking and imagination – the child has to “read” the picture and work out which shapes it is made of;
• Shape and colour recognition – circles, semicircles and ovals in six colours;

🎲 How to play at home

Start with the one-star cards: place the card next to the child and let them lay the pieces straight on the table. Say out loud what you are doing: “here is a yellow semicircle – that will be the beak”. Once it gets easy, move on to the two- and three-star cards, and later invite the child to invent an animal of their own and give it a name.

The puzzle suits visual perception and constructional praxis sessions: the child analyses the model, identifies its parts and transfers them onto a flat surface. Three card levels let you gradually raise the difficulty within one session. In speech therapy the cards help reinforce animal names, colours and prepositions of place (“above”, “under”, “next to”), and in a group they work well for pair play – one child describes, the other builds.
