“Positive attitudes: love, health and safety” — a game designed to nurture children’s social and emotional skills: an understanding of appropriate behaviour, respect for themselves and others, keeping to safety rules and a positive sense of self-worth.
During the game children see four illustrations on each game board and have to mark (with a cross) the picture showing unacceptable behaviour. In this way they develop the ability to recognise appropriate and inappropriate actions and learn empathy, responsibility and cooperation.
The set contains:
- 12 sturdy cardboard cards (15 × 15 cm);
- 12 plastic “crosses” (for marking);
- a handy case for storage and transport.
Learning aims and benefits:
- an understanding of love, care and safety;
- encouraging social skills, respectfulness and empathy;
- the ability to recognise appropriate and inappropriate behaviour;
- developing language, emotion recognition and communication skills;
- strengthening values — respect, health, responsibility.
Recommended for:
nurseries, primary classes, speech and language therapists, psychologists and occupational therapy specialists — for children from 3 years; especially suitable for those working with children who face speech, developmental or social challenges.
(Note: the game instructions or labels may be in Spanish, but thanks to the clear pictures and the self-evident activities the language is no obstacle at all to learning and is easy for children to follow.)
