🎲 How to play at home

Play on a tray with raised edges – that way the sand stays in one place. Try cutting it with a small knife (the sand slices like soft cheese), pressing it into moulds, rolling it with a rolling pin. The sand does not dry out, so you can keep it sealed and come back to it a month later.

🧑‍🏫 Tips for specialists

An invaluable aid in sensory integration sessions and for tactile desensitisation: unlike kinetic sand used with water, this one leaves no moisture behind and does not cling to clothes, which makes it more acceptable to sensitive children. Hide small objects in it and ask the child to find them without looking – an excellent tactile discrimination task. It also works as a hand-strengthening exercise before a writing activity.
