The set is handy for sessions on recognising emotions: ask the child to build a face that feels the way they feel today, or to copy an expression you show them. In speech and language therapy the portraits work well for consolidating vocabulary for the parts of the face and for encouraging storytelling from a picture. The magnetic base allows work on a vertical plane – fix the box up and you strengthen the hand and shoulder muscle groups.
