🥤 The ARK Flexi Cut-Out Cup™ is a flexible therapeutic cup with a nose cut-out (the “nosey cup”) that lets the child drink without tipping the head back. A feeding therapy classic: the cut-out gives the nose room for the cup to tilt, while the clear, flexible body lets the adult see the movements of the lips and tongue and control the flow of liquid by squeezing.
✨ What makes this cup special?
- Drinking without tipping the head back – the cup is tilted while the head stays in its natural position;
- The nose cut-out – the work of the lips and tongue is visible, which makes teaching and tracking progress easier;
- A flexible body – squeeze the sides gently and the flow of liquid is directed and controlled;
- Learning to drink from a cup – developing lip closure and control of the sip.
🎲 How to use it at home
Pour in a small amount of liquid – it makes the sip easier to control. Tilt the cup so that the cut-out sits at the nose and let your child drink in small sips. If needed, squeeze the sides of the cup gently – the flow becomes narrower and slower. Start with thicker liquids (for example thickened juice) if a specialist has recommended it.
🧑🏫 Tips for specialists
The nose cut-out lets you observe the oral phase during drinking without changing the head position – especially valuable when working with clients who have swallowing difficulties or limited neck mobility. The sizes are chosen for progression: small (~30 ml) for first attempts and precise dosing, medium (~60 ml) as the skill firms up, large (~200 ml) for functional drinking in everyday situations. You will find the set of all three sizes here.
